Destination Guide

Indonesia offers opportunities in technology, operations, logistics, tourism, finance, e-commerce, and digital services, especially in Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, Bandung, and other major urban centers. Java is the main business hub, while Bali is popular with international professionals and hospitality workers. Indonesian culture values respect, community, family, and indirect but courteous communication. Lifestyle ranges from busy city living and affordable local food to beaches, nature, and island travel. Jakarta has the deepest job market but heavy traffic and a higher cost of living; Bali offers a more relaxed setting but fewer corporate roles. Foreign nationals generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate visa, with regulations changing regularly. Remote work, investor, and second-home visas may have different conditions and do not automatically authorize employment. Candidates should confirm requirements with the employer and Indonesian immigration authorities before relocating.
