Destination Guide

Indonesia offers diverse career opportunities, especially on Java, where Jakarta, Bandung, and Surabaya are major hubs for technology, operations, finance, logistics, and customer service roles. Bali has strong tourism, hospitality, creative, and remote-work communities, while Sumatra, Sulawesi, and Kalimantan provide opportunities in energy, commodities, manufacturing, logistics, and regional services. Indonesian culture values community, politeness, family ties, and respectful communication. Lifestyle varies from busy urban living and affordable local food to beaches, nature, and a slower pace on smaller islands. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an appropriate work permit and limited-stay visa; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Relocating usually involves arranging housing, health insurance, banking, tax registration, and transport. Jakarta is convenient for corporate roles but crowded, whereas Bandung and Bali offer a more relaxed setting.
