Destination Guide

South Tangerang is on Java, Indonesia’s most developed and densely populated island, close to Jakarta and major industrial, business, and airport facilities. Job opportunities are strongest in energy services, manufacturing, engineering, logistics, technology, construction, and business support. Indonesian culture values hospitality, respect for seniority, religious awareness, and community relationships; English is useful in multinational workplaces, while Bahasa Indonesia helps with daily life. Housing, transport, healthcare, and shopping are widely available, but traffic and humidity can be challenging. Indonesia also offers diverse destinations across Sumatra, Bali, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, and eastern islands, each with distinct traditions and landscapes. Foreign employees normally need employer sponsorship, an appropriate work visa or limited-stay permit, and authorization before starting work. Relocation packages vary, so confirm housing, medical cover, taxation, flights, and dependent arrangements with Halliburton.
