Sydney offers a multicultural lifestyle, excellent public transport, beaches, cultural attractions and a busy hospitality market, although living costs and rents are high. Australian workplaces generally value punctuality, teamwork, direct communication, workplace safety and professional qualifications. International applicants need the correct visa, such as an employer-sponsored visa, skilled visa or working holiday visa where eligible; visa conditions and age limits should be checked with the Australian Department of Home Affairs. Relocation usually involves arranging accommodation, a tax file number, bank account, health cover and proof of work rights. Sydney’s climate is mild overall, with warm summers and cooler, wetter winters.
