The Cook prepares fresh, high-quality meals for guests using approved recipes and food-safety procedures. Requirements generally include commercial cookery experience, sound knowledge of kitchen operations, strong hygiene standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a busy environment. An Australian food-safety certificate and relevant hospitality qualifications may be advantageous. The successful candidate is expected to maintain consistent food quality, support smooth kitchen service, minimise waste, follow workplace health and safety policies, and cooperate well with chefs and service teams. Availability for rotating shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays, is important because the lounges operate around airline schedules. Airport security clearance and the right to work in Australia may also be required.
