Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hotels, tourism, food and beverage, finance, technology, healthcare and logistics. Hospitality work is concentrated around Marina Bay, Orchard, Sentosa, the Central Business District and heritage areas such as Duxton and Chinatown. The culture is multicultural and generally safe, efficient and respectful, with English widely used at work. Public transport is excellent, although rent can be high, especially near central districts; shared accommodation is a common option for new arrivals. Singapore has a tropical climate, diverse food, modern shopping and easy regional travel. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass or relevant Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary and occupation. Secure a written offer and approved pass before relocating, and budget for housing deposits, transport and healthcare.
