Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island nation, but it is a popular relocation destination with major opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, events, finance, technology, and construction. Dubai offers a highly international lifestyle, modern infrastructure, extensive shopping and dining, beaches, desert activities, and year-round events. The culture blends Emirati traditions with a large expatriate community; respectful dress, public behavior, and awareness of Islamic customs are important. Most expatriate employees work under employer-sponsored residence visas, with the employer commonly arranging work authorization, medical checks, and Emirates ID processing. Confirm accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave, flights, and commission terms before accepting an offer. Living costs can be high, especially for rent, although staff housing or allowances may be provided. English is widely used, while Arabic is useful for government and local-account relationships.
