Bermuda offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, marine services, finance, retail, healthcare, education and professional services. The island has a polished, multicultural and community-oriented culture, with strong British influences, local traditions, sailing, cricket and a major emphasis on hospitality. Lifestyle highlights include beaches, swimming, snorkeling, boating and a mild subtropical climate, although housing and everyday expenses are high. Public transportation is available through buses and ferries; visitors and residents generally use scooters rather than rental cars. Foreign nationals normally need an employer-sponsored Bermuda work permit, and the employer must meet local immigration requirements before employment begins. Candidates should confirm permit eligibility, contract terms, accommodation assistance, healthcare coverage and relocation costs before accepting an offer. Housing can be limited and expensive, so arranging accommodation early is important. Work in resort operations may include weekends, public holidays and seasonal fluctuations.
