Destination Guide

Bermuda offers opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, insurance, retail, healthcare, construction, and professional services. Its culture blends British, Caribbean, Portuguese, and North American influences, with strong traditions in sailing, cricket, music, and community events. Life is generally safe and relaxed, although housing, groceries, and transportation can be expensive. Scooters and buses are common, and most residents live near their workplace because commuting across the island can take time. Overseas applicants normally need a Bermuda work permit, which is generally arranged and sponsored by the employer; approval depends on the role, eligibility, and local labor requirements. Candidates should confirm permit sponsorship, accommodation, relocation assistance, healthcare, taxes, and contract terms before accepting an offer. Bermuda’s subtropical climate is attractive, but summers are humid and the island can experience hurricanes. A valid passport and suitable professional references are typically required.
