Destination Guide

Bermuda offers opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, tourism, events, marine activities, finance, retail, healthcare, construction, and professional services. The island’s culture blends British traditions, African heritage, Portuguese influence, and a strong maritime identity, with a generally friendly and community-minded atmosphere. Lifestyle highlights include pink-sand beaches, boating, diving, golf, walking trails, cricket, and a mild subtropical climate. Housing and everyday expenses are high, while transport commonly relies on buses, ferries, taxis, and privately rented scooters; visitors and many workers cannot rent cars freely. Foreign nationals normally need a Bermuda work permit arranged by an employer before starting work. Employers must generally demonstrate that suitably qualified Bermudians were considered, although specialist or hard-to-fill roles may qualify for permits. Candidates should confirm permit duration, medical checks, insurance, accommodation assistance, taxes, and relocation costs directly with the employer before accepting an offer.
