Bermuda offers employment in hotels, restaurants, tourism, transportation, marine services, retail, finance and professional services. The island has a distinctive blend of British, Caribbean and international influences, with a friendly community, strong traditions, pastel architecture and a deep connection to the sea. Life is relaxed but living costs are high, especially for housing, groceries and transportation. Scooters and buses are common, while private cars are regulated. Foreign applicants generally need an employer-sponsored work permit; employers must usually demonstrate that suitable Bermudian candidates were not available, so a confirmed job offer is essential before relocating. Ask about accommodation, transport, healthcare, work-permit fees and relocation support before accepting an offer. Bermuda uses the Bermudian dollar, which is pegged one-to-one with the US dollar. Respectful conduct, punctuality and community-minded behavior are highly valued.
