Destination Guide

Bermuda offers opportunities in tourism, hotels, restaurants, marine services, finance, construction, healthcare and facilities maintenance. Its culture blends British, African, Caribbean and Portuguese influences, with strong traditions in sailing, cricket, music and community celebrations. The lifestyle is safe, outdoors-oriented and relatively relaxed, with beautiful beaches, clear water, walking trails and a mild subtropical climate. Living costs are high, particularly for accommodation, groceries and transport, so applicants should confirm salary, housing support, meals, insurance and benefits before relocating. Bermuda regulates employment carefully: overseas applicants generally need a job offer and an employer-supported work permit before starting work. Employers usually handle the application, while the worker must provide documents such as a passport, references, qualifications and medical or police clearances where required. Work permits are tied to the sponsoring role, so changing jobs normally requires approval. Two-wheeled transport is common, and cars are regulated.
