Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is a modern Gulf federation rather than an island, offering strong employment opportunities in hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, events, finance and technology. Dubai and Abu Dhabi have diverse expatriate communities and a cosmopolitan lifestyle, with excellent dining, shopping, beaches and public transport. The culture blends Islamic traditions with international influences; modest dress and respectful behavior are expected, particularly in religious or formal settings. Employers usually sponsor a work visa, residence permit, medical examination and Emirates ID for overseas hires, subject to UAE regulations. Relocation packages vary and may include accommodation, transport, flights, medical insurance or service charges. Living costs, especially rent, can be high, so candidates should confirm salary, benefits, working hours, gratuities and accommodation before accepting an offer. The climate is hot for much of the year, while indoor facilities are generally air-conditioned.
