Destination Guide

Bermuda is a small, scenic British Overseas Territory known for pink-sand beaches, clear water, pastel homes, sailing, golf, and a relaxed but well-organized lifestyle. Tourism, hotels, restaurants, healthcare, construction, finance, retail, and marine services provide many employment opportunities, although the market is competitive and local hiring rules apply. Bermudian culture blends British, African, Caribbean, and North American influences, with strong traditions in music, food, sailing, and community events. Housing can be expensive and limited, so applicants should confirm accommodation, transport, and benefits before accepting an offer. Scooters and public buses are common because visitors generally cannot rent cars. Overseas workers normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; the employer usually manages the application and must demonstrate that the position can be filled by an overseas candidate. Bring certified documents and allow time for immigration processing.
