Destination Guide

Bermuda offers hospitality, tourism, finance, marine, construction, healthcare, and professional-service opportunities, although work authorization is required for most overseas applicants. The island has a distinctive blend of British, Caribbean, and North American influences, with strong community traditions, cricket, sailing, music, and a welcoming but relatively formal service culture. Life is relaxed and scenic, with pink-sand beaches, warm weather, boating, snorkeling, and outdoor activities, but imported goods and housing are expensive. Public buses and ferries provide useful transport, while residents commonly use scooters; private cars are regulated. Employers normally sponsor a work permit, and approval depends on the role, qualifications, recruitment requirements, and immigration rules. Candidates should secure written confirmation of salary, accommodation, insurance, permit sponsorship, flights, and contract terms before relocating. Bermuda’s healthcare and living costs are high, so careful budgeting is essential.
