Destination Guide

Bermuda offers opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, marine services, finance, healthcare, construction, education, and professional services. The culture blends British traditions with Bermudian heritage, and residents value courtesy, community, music, sailing, cricket, and island celebrations. Life is relaxed but relatively expensive, with limited housing and imported goods costing more than in many countries. Public buses and ferries are useful, while private cars are restricted; scooters are commonly used by residents. Foreign workers normally need employer sponsorship and a work permit before starting employment. Employers usually handle much of the application process, but permits are tied to the approved role and employer. Before relocating, candidates should confirm salary, accommodation, transport, healthcare, contract length, and airfare arrangements. A valid passport, police clearance, medical documentation, and proof of qualifications may be required. Bermuda’s subtropical climate is attractive, although hurricane-season planning is part of island life.
