Assistant Chief Steward

Job Description

The Assistant Chief Steward supports the Chief Steward in managing kitchen stewarding operations, including dishwashing, cleaning, waste handling, equipment care, sanitation and back-of-house organization. The role typically requires previous hotel or restaurant stewarding experience, supervisory ability, knowledge of food-safety and health standards, and physical stamina for a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate should be organized, dependable and comfortable working shifts, weekends and holidays. Strong communication skills, attention to detail and the ability to train and motivate team members are expected. Experience in a luxury hotel, knowledge of HACCP procedures and familiarity with inventory control would be advantageous.
