Destination Guide

Bermuda offers employment opportunities in hotels and resorts, restaurants, tourism, marine services, retail, finance, healthcare, construction and professional services. The culture blends British, Caribbean, Portuguese and international influences, with strong traditions of courtesy, community and respect for the island environment. Lifestyle highlights include beaches, boating, snorkeling, sailing, golf and a relaxed but active outdoor atmosphere. Accommodation can be expensive and limited, so applicants should confirm housing, transport and benefits before accepting an offer. Bermuda generally requires non-Bermudian workers to obtain an employer-sponsored work permit before starting employment; the employer normally handles the application, and approval depends on current immigration rules and local recruitment requirements. A valid passport, suitable qualifications and a formal job offer are usually needed. Applicants should verify visa, salary, taxes, insurance and relocation details with the employer and Bermuda immigration authorities.
