Destination Guide

Bermuda offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, restaurants, guest services, tourism, marine activities, retail, and events, although work-permit rules and local hiring priorities apply. The island has a distinctive blend of British, African, Caribbean, and international influences, reflected in its food, music, festivals, and friendly community life. Lifestyle is relaxed and outdoors-focused, with pink-sand beaches, sailing, diving, golf, hiking, and mild subtropical weather. Housing and everyday living costs are high, and transport mainly relies on buses, ferries, taxis, and small scooters; most visitors and many workers do not drive cars. Overseas applicants normally need an employer-sponsored work permit before beginning employment. Employers must generally demonstrate that the role is available to suitable international candidates after considering Bermudian workers. Confirm permit eligibility, housing, insurance, taxes, and relocation support directly with Fairmont and Bermuda’s immigration authorities before accepting an offer.
