Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the broadest hospitality, tourism, retail, aviation, finance, and technology opportunities. The country has a multicultural population, modern infrastructure, international schools, and a lifestyle centered on dining, shopping, beaches, desert activities, and indoor entertainment. Arabic is the official language, while English is widely used in business and hotels. Employers generally sponsor work visas, residence permits, medical checks, and Emirates ID applications for overseas hires; employees should not work on a tourist visa. Relocation packages vary and may include accommodation, transport, insurance, or flights. Summers are extremely hot, housing can be expensive, and employment contracts should be reviewed carefully, particularly regarding benefits, probation, notice periods, and visa sponsorship.
