The United Arab Emirates is not an island country, but it offers a modern, highly international lifestyle across seven emirates. Dubai and Abu Dhabi provide strong opportunities in aviation, airport services, engineering, logistics, hospitality, technology and construction. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a diverse expatriate community; respectful clothing and behavior are expected, especially in public and religious settings. Life is convenient, with excellent transport, shopping, healthcare and entertainment, although housing and schooling can be expensive. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are generally pleasant. Employees normally need employer-sponsored residence and work visas, and must complete medical tests and identity procedures after arrival. Employers may assist with visas, accommodation, transport or flights, depending on the contract. Before relocating, candidates should confirm salary, benefits, working hours, probation terms and accommodation arrangements.
