Destination Guide

Malaysia offers opportunities in luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, events, aviation, and wellness, particularly in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, and other coastal destinations. Island locations such as Langkawi, Penang, Redang, and Tioman provide a relaxed lifestyle, beaches, outdoor activities, and strong resort employment, although housing and transport may be more limited than in major cities. Malaysian culture is multicultural, with Malay, Chinese, Indian, Indigenous, and international influences reflected in food, festivals, and daily life. English is widely used in hospitality, while Malay is the national language. Foreign employees generally need employer sponsorship and an approved Employment Pass before starting work. Employers often assist with permits and relocation, but candidates should confirm accommodation, insurance, flights, tax, and contract terms. Malaysia is relatively affordable, though costs vary considerably between islands and urban centres.
