Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly developed island city-state with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, and logistics. The culture is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences reflected in food, festivals, languages, and everyday life. Public transport is reliable and extensive, while shopping, beaches, parks, museums, and excellent dining are easily accessible. Living costs can be high, especially for accommodation, but employee housing or transport benefits may be available in some hospitality roles. Foreign workers generally need an employer-sponsored work pass, such as an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Work Permit, depending on qualifications, salary, and occupation. Applicants should confirm eligibility and document requirements with Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower. New arrivals should budget for rent, deposits, healthcare, transport, and settling-in expenses.
