Housekeeping Coordinator

Hong Kong Shangri-La HK$15,000–HK$22,000 per month*
Job Description

The Housekeeping Coordinator supports the department by coordinating room and public-area cleaning assignments, updating room status, handling guest requests, communicating with Front Office and supervisors, and maintaining accurate records. The role generally requires previous hotel or administrative experience, good organization, attention to detail, and confidence using telephone and computer systems. Candidates should communicate clearly in English; Cantonese or Mandarin is advantageous in Hong Kong. The successful applicant is expected to remain calm under pressure, respond promptly to operational needs, protect guest privacy, follow hygiene and safety procedures, and work flexible shifts, including weekends and public holidays. A professional, service-focused attitude and the ability to coordinate effectively with colleagues are essential.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong offers extensive opportunities in hotels, restaurants, tourism, retail, finance, technology, healthcare, and professional services. Its culture blends Cantonese traditions with international influences, reflected in food, festivals, temples, museums, and a fast-paced urban lifestyle. Housing is expensive, but public transport is exceptionally efficient, and neighborhoods range from dense Kowloon districts to quieter areas on Hong Kong Island, Lantau, and the New Territories. Employees enjoy excellent dining, hiking trails, beaches, cultural events, and convenient regional travel. Foreign nationals normally need an approved employment visa before starting work; the employer generally sponsors the application and must demonstrate a genuine position and suitable terms. Applicants should confirm visa eligibility, medical requirements, accommodation costs, tax obligations, and employment benefits before relocating. Cantonese is valuable for local communication, while English is widely used in international hotels and business settings.
