The Indian Chef is responsible for preparing authentic Indian dishes to Shangri-La’s quality and presentation standards. Requirements generally include professional culinary training or equivalent experience, several years of Indian cuisine experience, strong knowledge of spices, regional cooking methods, food safety and hygiene procedures, and the ability to work efficiently in a hotel kitchen. The successful candidate is expected to maintain consistent taste and portion control, contribute menu ideas, manage ingredients responsibly, support junior kitchen colleagues, and cooperate with the wider culinary team. Flexibility, creativity, cleanliness, stamina and a guest-focused attitude are essential, along with the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
