Job Description

The Sales Executive is expected to generate and develop business for Shangri-La in Hong Kong, maintain relationships with corporate and leisure clients, follow up on leads, arrange site visits and sales calls, prepare proposals, and support revenue targets. Candidates should have experience in hotel sales, business development, or a related customer-facing role, with strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and organisational skills. The role requires a proactive, target-focused approach, excellent service standards, attention to detail, and flexibility to attend client meetings, networking events, and occasional work outside standard office hours.

Company Info

Shangri-La is a luxury hospitality group founded in Hong Kong and recognised internationally for its hotels, resorts, and distinctive Asian-inspired service. The group operates properties across Asia, the Middle East, Europe, North America, and other major destinations under brands including Shangri-La, Kerry Hotels, JEN, and Traders. Its Hong Kong hotels serve business travellers, leisure guests, meetings, weddings, and large-scale events. Shangri-La places strong emphasis on personalised guest care, operational excellence, employee development, and long-term client relationships. A Sales Executive may work with corporate accounts, travel agencies, event organisers, and local businesses while representing the hotel’s rooms, restaurants, meeting facilities, and related services. The company generally offers an international working environment, structured hotel operations, and opportunities to progress within hospitality sales and the wider group.

Destination Guide

Hong Kong is a compact international city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, finance, retail, technology, and professional services. The culture blends Cantonese traditions with global influences, and daily life is fast-paced, efficient, and highly connected. Residents enjoy excellent public transport, diverse restaurants, shopping, nightlife, hiking trails, beaches, and nearby islands such as Lantau and Cheung Chau. Accommodation can be expensive, particularly in central districts, so many employees live in Kowloon or the New Territories and commute by MTR. Foreign professionals generally need an employment visa sponsored by their employer, with eligibility based on qualifications, experience, and a confirmed job offer; dependants may usually apply for accompanying visas. Cantonese is valuable for local relationships, while English is widely used in hotels and business. New arrivals should budget carefully, arrange housing early, and confirm employer support for visas, medical coverage, and relocation.
