Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island city with strong opportunities in hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, finance, technology and healthcare. The culture is multicultural, shaped by Chinese, Malay, Indian and international communities, with English widely used at work. Life is safe, efficient and convenient, though accommodation and daily expenses can be high. Public transport is excellent, and neighbourhoods offer everything from modern shopping districts to hawker centres, parks and waterfront attractions. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; eligible skilled roles may use an Employment Pass or S Pass, while other hospitality positions may fall under different work-permit rules and quotas. The employer normally manages the application. Relocating candidates should confirm salary, housing, medical coverage, work-pass eligibility and contract conditions before accepting an offer.
