Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with major hospitality opportunities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah. Hotels, resorts, restaurants, catering companies, and new tourism developments regularly recruit chefs and hospitality professionals. UAE culture combines Emirati traditions with a large international community; modest dress and respect for local customs are important. Lifestyle is modern and convenient, though accommodation and transport costs can be high without an employer package. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant. Most overseas employees require an employer-sponsored work visa, medical screening, and Emirates ID. Employers commonly provide accommodation, meals, transport, insurance, annual leave, and return airfare, but contract terms should be checked carefully before relocating.
