Destination Guide

The Philippines offers hotel and tourism opportunities across Luzon, Cebu, Boracay, Palawan and other resort islands. Common roles include revenue management, reservations, front office, food and beverage, housekeeping, events, diving and guest relations. Filipino culture is friendly, family-oriented and strongly influenced by regional traditions, Catholicism and English-language education. Lifestyle varies from busy metropolitan living in Manila to a slower beach-resort pace in Boracay, Cebu or Palawan. Rent, transport and daily expenses are generally lower than in many international hotel markets, although Manila and major resort areas can be costly. Foreign hires usually need employer sponsorship, an appropriate work permit and an Alien Employment Permit, while visa rules depend on nationality and contract length. Philippine citizens can relocate domestically with relative ease; international candidates should confirm requirements with the employer and Bureau of Immigration. Reliable internet, healthcare and international connections are best in major cities.
