Subsidiary Cook (Shang Palace)

Job Description

The Subsidiary Cook supports the Shang Palace kitchen team with the preparation and cooking of Chinese dishes, ingredients, sauces and garnishes. Candidates should have relevant experience in a hotel, restaurant or Chinese kitchen, sound knowledge of food preparation, knife skills and safe food-handling practices. Familiarity with wok cooking, dim sum or Cantonese cuisine would be advantageous. The role requires good hygiene, teamwork, discipline and the ability to work efficiently during busy service periods. The successful candidate is expected to follow recipes and kitchen standards, maintain cleanliness, reduce waste, support senior cooks and comply with Shangri-La’s workplace and food-safety procedures. Shift work, weekends and public holidays are normally required.
