Destination Guide

Malaysia offers varied hospitality opportunities in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Langkawi, Sabah and Sarawak, including hotel operations, food and beverage, tourism, wellness and events. Although Malaysia is not one island, its mainland and island destinations provide different lifestyles: Kuala Lumpur is fast-paced and urban, Penang is known for heritage and food, while Langkawi offers a quieter beach setting. Malaysian culture is multicultural, blending Malay, Chinese, Indian and indigenous traditions, with English widely used in hotels and business. Living costs are moderate compared with many international destinations, though central Kuala Lumpur rents can be higher. Foreign employees generally need an employment pass sponsored by their employer, and approval must be secured before starting work. Candidates should confirm visa, tax, accommodation and relocation support directly with the hotel.
