Destination Guide

Bali offers employment opportunities in luxury resorts, hotels, restaurants, tourism, wellness, events, retail, education, and digital work. Jimbaran and nearby areas are known for beaches, seafood restaurants, temples, surf culture, and a relaxed but increasingly international lifestyle. Balinese culture emphasizes Hindu traditions, community ceremonies, respect, and hospitality; appropriate dress and behavior are important at temples and religious events. Living costs vary widely, with accommodation, transport, and imported goods being significant expenses in tourist areas. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work permit and appropriate Indonesian visa, arranged before beginning employment; working on a tourist visa is not permitted. Employers may assist with immigration, accommodation, meals, health insurance, and relocation, but conditions should be confirmed in writing. New arrivals should arrange secure housing, local transport, medical coverage, and document legalization before moving.
