Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in hospitality, especially in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hokkaido, Okinawa, and resort destinations. Culinary professionals can find work in hotels, restaurants, bakeries, and luxury resorts, although competition is high and Japanese language ability is a major advantage. Japanese culture values punctuality, cleanliness, teamwork, respect, and careful attention to detail. Tokyo provides excellent transport, dining, shopping, and international communities, but housing and daily expenses can be high. Common work visas include the Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services visa for eligible hospitality roles, while some culinary positions may require another appropriate status; the employer normally supports the application. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, salary, working hours, accommodation, insurance, taxes, and relocation costs before accepting an offer. A passport, qualifications, employment contract, certificate of eligibility, and sometimes proof of experience are required for relocation.
