Destination Guide

Mauritius offers employment opportunities in luxury hotels and resorts, tourism, restaurants, aviation, finance, technology, healthcare, construction, and education. Its culture blends Indian, African, European, and Chinese influences, with English commonly used in business and Mauritian Creole widely spoken in daily life. The lifestyle is relaxed and outdoors-oriented, with beaches, lagoons, hiking, water sports, markets, and a warm tropical climate. Living costs vary, with coastal and tourist areas generally more expensive than inland towns. Foreign workers normally need an approved work permit or occupation permit arranged with employer support before starting employment; requirements depend on nationality, salary, qualifications, and contract terms.
