Destination Guide

Japan offers strong opportunities in hotels, restaurants, resorts, tourism, and international hospitality, particularly in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Okinawa, and Hokkaido. Culinary professionals can find work in luxury hotels, fine dining, bakeries, and seasonal resort kitchens. Japanese culture values punctuality, cleanliness, respect, teamwork, and careful attention to detail. Life in Tokyo is convenient and energetic, with excellent public transport, diverse food, and rich cultural attractions, though housing and daily expenses can be high. Non-Japanese citizens generally need an employer-sponsored work visa, commonly under an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services or Skilled Labor category, depending on qualifications and duties. A valid passport, employment contract, and approved status of residence are required. Employers may assist with visa paperwork, but candidates should confirm eligibility before accepting an offer. Learning basic Japanese makes workplace and daily life considerably easier.
