Destination Guide

The United Arab Emirates is not an island but a federation of seven emirates, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi offering the largest range of hospitality, tourism, culinary, retail, aviation, and business opportunities. Life is modern, international, and fast-paced, with excellent infrastructure, beaches, shopping, restaurants, and year-round entertainment. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a large expatriate population, so respectful dress, behavior, and awareness of local customs are important. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are warm and comfortable. Employers normally sponsor work visas for international hires, arrange medical testing and Emirates ID processing, and may provide accommodation, transport, insurance, flights, and meals. Employees should confirm these benefits, probation terms, working hours, gratuity, and leave provisions before accepting an offer. Dubai is relatively expensive, particularly for rent, but staff housing or allowances can make relocation manageable. A passport, verified qualifications, medical clearance, and authenticated documents may be required.
