Hospitality, tourism, aviation, retail, construction, healthcare and professional services provide many employment opportunities, especially in Doha. The culture combines Islamic traditions with a large international expatriate community. Modest dress, respectful behavior and consideration during Ramadan are important. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are pleasant and suitable for outdoor activities. Most overseas employees need an employer-sponsored work visa and residence permit; the employer commonly arranges documentation, medical checks and sometimes accommodation or transport.
