Destination Guide

Japan offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, ryokan, tourism, and travel services, especially in Kyoto, Tokyo, Osaka, Okinawa, and Hokkaido. Kyoto has a rich cultural environment, excellent public transport, seasonal festivals, historic temples, and a generally safe, orderly lifestyle. Living costs vary, with housing and transport usually higher in major cities. Japanese language ability is highly useful, although international luxury hotels may operate partly in English. Foreign employees normally need an employer-sponsored work visa, commonly under an Engineer/Specialist in Humanities/International Services or related status, depending on the position and qualifications. Candidates should confirm sponsorship, accommodation, relocation assistance, health insurance, taxes, and working hours before accepting an offer. Japan has distinct seasons, strong workplace etiquette, and a culture that values punctuality, respect, cleanliness, and attentive service.
