Destination Guide

Seychelles offers hospitality opportunities in hotels, resorts, restaurants, tourism, marine activities, transport, maintenance and guest services, especially on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue. The culture blends African, European and Asian influences, with Seychellois Creole, English and French widely used. Life is relaxed and outdoors-focused, with beaches, hiking, diving, fishing and island excursions forming part of everyday life. Mahé has the largest selection of shops, services and public transport, but living costs can be high and accommodation availability is limited. Foreign employees generally need an approved Gainful Occupation Permit (GOP) before working; the employer normally sponsors the application and confirms the position with Seychelles authorities. Candidates should verify passport, medical, police-clearance and contract requirements before travel. Resort jobs may include staff housing, meals, transport and healthcare arrangements, but these benefits should be confirmed in writing. Climate is warm and humid year-round, with wetter periods and occasional tropical weather.
