Destination Guide

Bahrain is a compact Gulf island nation with Manama as its commercial and cultural center. The country offers opportunities in luxury hotels, restaurants, catering, retail, finance, construction, healthcare, and tourism. Life is generally convenient, with modern malls, international dining, beaches, museums, and a lively social scene. Bahrain is culturally diverse and relatively liberal by regional standards, although modest dress and respect for Islamic customs are important, especially during Ramadan. Arabic is the official language, while English is widely used in workplaces. Employers normally arrange a work permit and residence visa for expatriate staff after contract approval and medical checks. Before relocating, confirm salary, accommodation, transport, insurance, annual leave, and air-ticket terms. Summers are extremely hot, while winters are mild and more comfortable for outdoor activities.
