Headquartered in Miami, Florida, Carnival operates a fleet of ships offering affordable vacations to destinations across the Caribbean, Mexico, Alaska, Europe, and other regions. Carnival’s workforce includes shoreside professionals and thousands of shipboard employees who work together to deliver safe, enjoyable experiences for millions of guests. Corporate technology and support teams play an important role in keeping reservations, onboard systems, communications, guest services, and business operations running effectively across the fleet and shoreside organization.

Destination Guide

Working on a cruise ship offers opportunities in hospitality, guest services, culinary operations, entertainment, marine work, technology, retail, housekeeping, and safety. The culture is international, fast-paced, and highly team-oriented, with colleagues from many countries and long working days during contracts. Employees usually live onboard in shared cabins, receive meals, medical support, and access to crew facilities, while spending time in ports when schedules allow. Pay, accommodation, and benefits depend on the role, experience, and contract. Visa requirements vary by nationality, ship itinerary, and embarkation port; crew members commonly need a passport, seaman’s documents, medical clearance, and visas such as a U.S. C-1/D when joining through the United States. Relocation is generally to the assigned embarkation port rather than a permanent island move. Candidates should confirm travel, visa, contract, and repatriation arrangements directly with Carnival.
