Job Description

The Theatres Nurse – Scrub supports surgical procedures by preparing instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile technique, assisting the surgical team, and promoting patient safety before, during and after operations. Applicants would normally need current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner, relevant operating-theatre experience, and demonstrable scrub competencies. Knowledge of infection prevention, surgical safety checks, medicines management, documentation and emergency procedures is expected. The successful candidate should communicate effectively, work calmly under pressure, collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and theatre staff, and provide compassionate, professional care.
