Shift Porter & Relief Porters (Grade A)

Job Description

The Shift Porter and Relief Porters support the safe and efficient movement of patients, equipment, supplies, waste and other materials around the hospital. The role typically requires good physical fitness, reliability, punctuality and the ability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays. Candidates should have good communication skills, a helpful attitude and the ability to follow health and safety, infection prevention and manual-handling procedures. Previous hospital, portering, facilities or customer-service experience is useful but may not be essential, with training provided. The successful candidate will work cooperatively with clinical and estates teams, respond promptly to requests, maintain confidentiality and provide respectful assistance to patients, visitors and colleagues in a busy healthcare environment.
