Destination Guide

The United Kingdom offers varied healthcare, technology, education, engineering, finance, hospitality and public-sector opportunities. Cornwall provides a quieter coastal lifestyle, attractive villages, outdoor activities and a strong sense of community, although housing and transport can be challenging in popular areas. UK culture is diverse, with people generally valuing punctuality, privacy, politeness and work-life balance. International nurses normally need NMC registration, evidence of English proficiency and, where applicable, a Skilled Worker visa sponsored by an eligible employer. Applicants should check current immigration rules, salary thresholds and registration requirements before travelling. Relocation planning should include accommodation, transport, healthcare access, banking, National Insurance and local council registration. Launceston is in Cornwall near the Devon border, with road links to larger towns but limited public transport in rural areas, so a driving licence can be particularly useful for community nursing work.
