Job Description

This locum Consultant Psychiatrist role provides specialist assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with intellectual disabilities across South West London. The successful candidate will need full GMC registration with a licence to practise, inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility for it, and relevant experience in intellectual disability psychiatry. The role requires strong clinical leadership, multidisciplinary teamwork, risk management and effective communication with patients, families, carers and partner services. Candidates are expected to uphold NHS values, maintain high professional standards, contribute to service development and complete accurate clinical documentation. Experience working in community and inpatient settings, as well as knowledge of mental health legislation and safeguarding, would be advantageous.
