Job Description

This consultant psychiatrist role provides specialist clinical leadership for the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Learning Disability team. Requirements typically include GMC registration with a licence to practise, inclusion on the Specialist Register or eligibility for it in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or Psychiatry of Learning Disability, and relevant NHS or equivalent experience. The successful candidate will assess and treat young people with learning disabilities and mental health needs, lead multidisciplinary care planning, support risk management, contribute to service development, and provide supervision and teaching. Candidates are expected to demonstrate sound clinical judgement, strong communication, safeguarding awareness, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to equality, inclusion and recovery-focused care.
