This is a consultant psychiatrist role supporting adults with learning disabilities across Ferndown and Purbeck in Dorset. The successful candidate will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning and clinical leadership, working closely with community teams, primary care, families and wider multidisciplinary services. Applicants will normally need full GMC registration, inclusion on the Specialist Register in Learning Disability Psychiatry or eligibility for it, and relevant consultant-level clinical experience. Strong communication, leadership, safeguarding and risk-management skills are expected, together with a commitment to recovery-focused, person-centred care. The role also involves supervision, teaching, service development and participation in clinical governance and on-call arrangements where applicable.
