Job Description

The MHST CBT Therapist provides evidence-based cognitive behavioural therapy to children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties in education and community settings. Requirements typically include a recognised CBT qualification, such as a postgraduate certificate or equivalent, and experience delivering CBT interventions to young people. Applicants should understand children’s mental health, safeguarding, risk assessment, confidentiality and multidisciplinary working. The role requires strong communication, organisation and record-keeping skills, along with the ability to work independently across schools and collaborate with families, education staff and healthcare professionals. Candidates are expected to promote recovery, inclusion and early intervention while working in line with NHS policies, professional standards and local clinical procedures.
