Job Description

The Assistant Psychologist supports qualified psychologists and multidisciplinary teams in delivering psychological assessment, formulation, interventions and outcome monitoring. Typical requirements include a psychology degree, usually with eligibility for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership of the British Psychological Society, relevant experience in mental health or social care, strong communication skills and the ability to work with confidential clinical information. Candidates are expected to demonstrate empathy, professionalism, cultural awareness and an understanding of safeguarding, risk management and equality. The role also requires accurate record keeping, participation in clinical meetings, supporting research or audit, and the ability to manage priorities under supervision.
