Destination Guide

Singapore is a compact, highly connected island with strong opportunities in hospitality, aviation, tourism, finance, technology, healthcare, retail, and events. English is widely used, and the workforce is multicultural, with Chinese, Malay, Indian, and international influences shaping everyday culture. Life is safe, efficient, and convenient, supported by excellent public transport, modern healthcare, shopping, hawker centres, parks, and a lively nightlife scene. Housing can be expensive, especially near the city centre, so many newcomers share apartments or live in outer neighbourhoods connected by MRT. Foreign employees generally need an employer-sponsored work pass; service roles commonly use an S Pass or Work Permit, subject to government eligibility rules and quotas. Employers usually guide successful applicants through the application process. Before relocating, confirm salary, service charge, accommodation, medical coverage, working hours, and pass eligibility. Changi Airport is well connected to central Singapore by MRT, taxi, and bus.
